Chshieva  M.  CH.  Pages  of  the  past  GGAU:  a  look  into  the  future

Abstract. The Mountainous state agrarian University marks 100 years old. Not every higher educational establishment can be proud of such a rich history. The University was born in the conditions of revolution, civil war and foreign intervention. At this difficult time, in Ossetia, as in Russia in general, the agrarian issue remained unresolved, and there was a lack of scientific personnel and educational institutions to train them. Today, 100 years later, the University as the country in general faces truly revolutionary tasks again, as it used to in the period of its establishment. These tasks have been set by the President of the Russian Federation in the May decrees to ensure food security of the country, and as a consequence, to enter the list of five developed countries of the world, which is achievable only in the case of a breakthrough in the scientific sphere.
The Agrarian University has a rich scientific-practical experience. The article analyzes the activities of scientists whose names are associated with the vital pages of the University history. Thus, the scientific-practical experience gathered for one hundred year term of the Mountainous State Agrarian University history has not been expendable. Agreeing with the point of view of the Russian presidential adviser academician S. Glazyev, it should be noted that in the context of the hybrid war pulling resources from Russia and other post-socialist countries, food security plays a huge role, which cannot be achievable without the development of agricultural science.

Chibirov  T.N.  The  cognitive  sign  «workhorse»  in  the  structure  of  the concept  «horse»  in  ossetian,  russian  and  english  linguocultures

Abstract. In this article different ways of the concept structure organizing are being considered, among which the author underlines the cognitive sign, that, according to M.V. Pimenova, is a structural unit of the mental structure. In terms of the concept “horse” in the Ossetian, Russian and English linguocultures the cognitive sign “workhorse” is described, which consideration has revealed its unequal representation in the above-mentioned linguocultures. Comparatively rich lexical and phraseological material of the Russian and English languages representing the sign “workhorse” indicates that it belongs to the core, whereas in Ossetic there is a certain lack of this sort of vocabulary, and a number of identified phraseological units contain a specific connotation “frivolous works”...

Kamanina I.Z., Gustova M.V., Frontasyeva M.V., Pukhaeva N.Е., Kaplina S.P., Chigoeva D.N. Rare metals in the waste of the Unal tailings. North Ossetia

Abstract. The content of 16 rare metals (titanium, indium, tellurium, selenium, scandium, vanadium, rubidium, zirconium, niobium, molybdenum, cesium, lanthanum, cerium, tantalum, thorium and uranium) at the Unal tailings of the Mizur concentrating factory has been studied. Analytical definitions are made by the use of XFA (X-ray fluorescence analysis) and INNA. Titanium, indium, tellurium and selenium in the tailings account for up to 0.4%. By reserves of indium, tellurium, selenium, the tails can be considered as technogenic deposits of rare metals.

Radionoff А.А. A simple theoretical model of the mechanics deep oceanic troughs origin

Abstract. A simple theoretical model of physical processes leading to the formation of deep-dwelling oceanic trenches is presented. Physical reasons of extensive warping in the oceanic crust are being discussed. In the case of physical mechanisms under consideration it assumes the existence of a mantle jet current flowing under a deep-sea trench, along its direction, which core is located at a depth of about a dozen kilometers below the ocean floor. The pressure above the moving mantle jet is less than the pressure above the surrounding stationary mantle. This difference in terms of pressure can lead to the warping of the ocean floor and is the vertical agency, leading to oceanic trenches formation. Possible causes, leading to mantle jet currents are discussed.

Badov A.D., Khashukoyeva M.N. Medical-geographical features of studying population health of Kabardino-Balkaria

Abstract. The health condition of the population of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria is being studied in terms of special circumstances of the regional geographical location, the specificity of the nature, territorial organization of the population and economy, comparatively low level of morbidity (not only common but also on certain groups of diseases). Medical-geographical studies are especially relevant because only with their help we can explain the influence of various factors on the health of population and reveal inner territorial differences. The study has shown that there is still the lowest morbidity level of the population of Kabardino-Balkaria within the Russian Federation, despite high rate of growth. The region has comparatively favorable indicators on many diseases, in particular infectious and parasitic diseases, blood and blood-forming organs diseases and many others. In this context, it is necessary to carry out further studies in order to explain the phenomenon of KBR and to reveal morbidity development of the population.

Basaeva   E.K.,   Kamenetsky   E.S.,   Khosaeva   Z.H.   On   the     issue   of short-term     forecasting   of   mass   protest   actions

Abstract. The article is devoted to the improvement of predicting protest activity methods. A hypothesis has been put forward that the growth of social tension, estimated by certain statistical indicators, can refer to emerging mass protest actions. In order to test the hypothesis, certain processes that took place in the countries of the Transcaucasus from 1996 to the first half of the 2010 are considered. In 71% cases of increased tension in the Transcaucasian republics, in the next three years surge of protest activity is expected. In 37.5% cases, the increase in protest activity has not been preceded by the increase in tension. Thus, the proposed method can be used to predict outbursts of protest activity.
