Chshiyev V.T. Necropolises near the village of Styrfaz in the basin of the Bolshaya Liakhva River – monuments of the Bronze Age – Early Middle Ages of Ossetia and the Caucasus
DOI 10.46698/VNC.2023.74.35.001
Abstract. The article examines the materials of two necropolises near the village of Styrfaz in the Republic of South Ossetia of the Late Bronze Age and the era of late Antiquity – early Middle Ages from the point of view of Transcaucasian ethno-cultural ties in this era. It is assumed that the active flourishing of the culture of the local population at the specified time, not least was associated with the geostrategic location of these monuments located near the Transcaucasian passes: Roksky, leading to the gorge of the Ardon river, Kadlasan, leading to the Trusovsky gorge and further to the Cross Pass, and others. The material culture of the considered monuments testifies to the cultural and economic ties of local tribes with the population of the Western Transcaucasia, the North Caucasus, the Northern Black Sea region, the South Caucasus, and the Near East at the time under consideration.

Tuallagov A.A. To the history of nykhas (II)
DOI 10.46698/VNC.2023.33.84.001
Abstract. The article analyzes the issues of design features of nykhas as archaeological and architectural monuments in the context of their genesis and certain cult ideas. Particular attention is paid to the materials of the Ossetian epic. The analysis suggests that there is no reason to erect some design features of the monuments to the traditions of a third-party population for Ossetians. The materials of the Nart epic of the Ossetians allow us to note the connection of the ancient nykhas with agrarian cults. They could show elements of contacts with other ethnic cultures, which is historically explainable.

ETHNOGRAPHY
Salbiev T.K. Ossetian comic dance Gogyz / Goguz ‘Turkey’ (mythological aspect)
DOI 10.46698/VNC.2023.90.77.001
Abstract. The study of the mythological aspect of the Gogyz / Goguz (Turkey) dance shows that it is educational in its nature and is intended to reveal the original imitative nature of the dance in general. The comic effect, accompanying its performance is achieved due to the parody nature, since the turkey acts as a caricature of a black grouse (simultaneously contrasting nature and culture, hunting and housekeeping). The plot of bird mating games refers to the archaic cult nature of the grouse, which reveals itself in a bronze pendant-amulet from North Caucasian Tereze mortuary (the end of XII–VIII cent. BC).

Tavasiev R.A. Glaciers, rock glaciers and glacial lakes in the Midagrabindon river basin, Central Caucasus
DOI 10.46698/VNC.2023.97.10.001
Abstract. The article critically examines literary data on glaciers and glacial lakes located in the Midagrabindon river basin and changes that have occurred on them over the past half century. In 1977, there were 12 glaciers and 3 lakes in this territory. Now there are 30 glaciers, 5 active rock glaciers and 16 glacial lakes. A map of glaciers, rock glaciers and glacial lakes of the Midagrabindon River basin has been compiled. Morphometric data are given in Tables. Glaciation degradation is increasing. Due to the ongoing warming of the climate, the degradation of glaciation is increasing. Perhaps this process is influenced by the dormant volcano Kazbek.

DOI 10.46698/VNC.2023.26.26.001
Abstract. In world practice, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is used as a measuring tool for solving local and global problems of geodynamics. Since 1991, it has been used to study the modern geodynamics of the Greater Caucasus (GC). Analysis of preliminary results (two measurement epochs were carried out - 06.1993 and 09.1994) at 21 GPS-TRIMBLE stations according to the Russian-German project “WEGENER” (head P. Wilson, IFAG Cologne, Germany) is provided in this article. The stations were located in the structural-formational zones (SFZ): Bechasynskaya, Peredovoy and Glavnoy Ridges and the southern slope of the BC in such a way that the measurements of the velocities and direction vectors of displacements of blocks will characterize those in each SFZ. The reference point in the village of Zelenchukskaya is stable compared to the international reference point on the Scandinavian shield. It is known that large (10-17 mm / yr) rates of horizontal displacements with displacement vectors with NW and NNW orientations are characteristic of the Arabian plate and adjacent parts of the Mediterranean mobile belt. Displacement vectors with NNE orientation (velocity of 9-12 mm / year) are typical for the southeastern part of the Lesser Caucasus, which confirms the northern drift of the Arabian plate. In front of the frontal part of the Arabian plate protrusion, the velocity vectors (2-4 mm / yr) have a NE orientation. In the north of the GC in the Stavropol arch uplift, the values of the NE and NW vectors are established orientations within the range of 2.5-3 mm / year, which indicates that the influence of the northern drift of the Arabian plate is not perceptible here. The nature of the distribution of the horizontal displacement velocity vectors at the measurement points confirms the presence of the Transcaucasian transverse uplift (TTU).. According to the uplift velocities, the GC is clearly divided into two large blocks. Western block - from the city of Gelengik in the west and to the valley of the river. Baksan in the east. Eastern block - from the river valley. Baksan and to the valley of the river. Urukh in the east. In the Western block, the maximum uplift rates, 5-6 mm / year, were established only in the area of Gelengik, which is probably due to the uplift of the transverse structure in the Tuapse. In the Eastern block, it was found that on the southern edge of the Scythian platform, in the area of laccoliths Kavminvod, the ascent rate reaches 6 mm / year, and much further to the south, in the SFZ of the Peredovoy and Glavnoy Ridges, the average rate of ascent of the central part of the block is 13 mm / year. Lilienberg D.A. with co-authors as a result of three epochs (1925 \ 27-1946 / 50; 1946 / 50-1970 / 75 and 1970 / 75-1985 / 92) of repeated leveling.

Guliyev I.F. Geochemical characteristics of microelements in the soils of the Gusar Plain (southeastern end of the Greater Caucasus)
DOI 10.46698/VNC.2023.13.13.001
Abstract. The levels of content and some patterns of distribution of Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, Ni, V, Mn, Ti in Cretaceous sediments, in the humus horizon of mountain meadow turf soils of the subalpine belt, in the humus horizon of mountain-forest brown soils of the forest belt were revealed. It was determined that humus substances in the humus horizon of the soils of the district are associated with positive bonds to the level of materiality with Mn and Ti; humus connectivity with Cu, Pb, Co, Ni, V, Cr are insignificant and commonly negative. The following positive statistically significant relationships were found in the soils of the district: I) Cu-Pb-Zn; 2) Co-V-Cr in the subalpine belt, Co-Ni-V-Cr-Cu-Pb - in the forest belt; 3) Mn; 4) Ti. Positive relationships between Mn and Ti sometimes reach the level of significance.
