Gostieva L.К. Contribution of Tsotsko Ambalov to the publication of the “Ossetian-Russian-German Dictionary” by V.F. Miller
Abstract. The article is devoted to the active participation of the remarkable representative of the Ossetian intelligentsia, educator Ts.B. Ambalova in work on the Ossetian-Russian-German dictionary V.F. Miller. Two stages of this work have been identified: pre-revolutionary, during the life of V.F. Miller, and in the 1920-1930s, with editor A.A. Freiman. It is indicated that at the second stage of work on the dictionary Ts.B. Ambalov was sent to Leningrad for several years as an assistant to A.A. Freyman. The high assessment given by the editor to the contribution of Ts.B. Ambalov in the publication of the dictionary, which consisted of updating it with lexical and phraseological material, as well as many years of work on proofreading the three-volume dictionary.

Tsorieva I.T. Theatrical art of North Ossetia during the period of cultural modernization of the 1920–1930s
Abstract. The article examines a unique period of theatrical reform in a multinational country in the 1920-1930s, which became for national cultures the boundary of transition from mostly amateur theatrical associations to professional forms of theatrical art with state status. It is noted that during the period of cultural modernization, theatrical art in North Ossetia developed in the general mainstream of the Soviet cultural policy of using theater as a tool for educating a new person in the course of socialist construction

Berkutov A.S., Dementiev D.A. Participation of the 1st Motorized Rifle Dzerzhinsky Division of the NKVD of the USSR in ensuring state andpublic security in the Caucasus in 1943–1944
Abstract. The article analyzes the participation of the 1st Motorized Rifle Division named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky in activities to ensure state and public security in the Caucasus in 1943-1944. The purpose of the study is to prove the hypothesis that the activities of the F.E. Dzerzhinsky division and other bodies and troops of the NKVD of the USSR were a necessary stage in the transition from a state of war to peaceful life. The theoretical basis of the research is the principle of consistency and the comparative historical method.

Dzidzoev V.D., Dzugaev K.G. Zachary Chichinadze and other historians and "specialists" of Georgia about Ossetia and Ossetians
Abstract. The article examines the problem of objectivity in historical research on the example of the Georgian historian of the past, Zahariya Chichinadze, who published the monograph "The History of Ossetia according to Georgian sources." The authors try to show the historian of the past as he was in reality – an objective, unbiased researcher of the relations between Ossetia and Georgia. Grades are given to him. At the same time, many Georgian nationalists are condemned for distorting historical and legal reality, especially in modern Georgian-Ossetian relations.

Stepanov. A.S. Military measures of the USSR in response to the Anglo-French threat of air strikes in the Caucasus (1939–1940)
Abstract. The crisis situation that developed on the southern borders of the USSR in the initial period of World War II and reached a dangerous peak in the spring of 1940 in connection with the plans of the Anglo-French coalition to disable the Caucasian oil fields posed a real threat to the Soviet Union. In order to disrupt such plans, the Soviet military-political leadership took a number of measures, including immediately sharply strengthening the air and naval forces on the southern borders of the USSR and developing retaliatory plans against the Anglo-French coalition.

Abstract. . In the near-surface magma chambers of the "sleeping" volcano Elbrus, in addition to the traditional types of degassing of the melt (through fumarole activity, parasitic craters and fault zones), another type was revealed in which it occurs due to the increased permeability of volcanic rocks and through microcracks in the rocks overlying the magma chambers. Its presence is proved by a petrophysical data on the density, porosity and permeability of volcanic rocks of the EVC and data about the periodic formation of aerosol "clouds", "pillars" of bright white glow (in sunny weather) and hydrogen flows above the chambers. Estimated passage rates of gases (H2O, H2, He, CO2, CO, Stotal, HF, HCl) through gneisses and volcanic rocks. The projections of the magma chambers onto the Earth's surface are shown as stable positive thermal anomalies revealed by special processing of nighttime thermal sounding data from the NOAA satellite system. Under the anomalies, according to magnetotelluric sounding and gravimetric studies, endogenous heat sources were identified, in the form of magma chambers with a melt. The depths of their roofs vary from 2 to 4 km. Over modern active faults with zones of increased microfracturing, located in the contours of positive thermal anomalies, “pillars” with a bright white glow periodically appear, and according to night lidar and hydrogen surveys, aerosol “clouds” and hydrogen flows have been established. In the contours of thermal anomalies, intensive melting of the snow and ice cover periodically occurs and the smell of hydrogen sulfide is felt. The geochemical features of various types of degassing have been studied and the extent of transfer of microelements and substances by gases has been estimated. It has been established that the degassing of the melt was accompanied by the transfer of a number of trace elements (Li, B, Si, P, S, Ca, Zn, Pb, Mo, Ba, W, Hg, Pt, Ag, U, Th, I) by gases in finely dispersed (a few microns) state, with the active participation of F and Cl. During the electron microscopic study of the dry residue of snow samples, for the first time in the Elbrus region, the following were established: native platinum, barite, halite, sylvin, opal, sinjarite, zircon, chalcopyrite, feldspars, chlormayenite, gypsum, svanbergite, Cl-organic, etc. A new one forthe type of "invisible" ore mineralization in the latest volcanic rocks of the Caucasus, genetically associated with the degassing of a melt enriched in ore elements, and it has been suggested that it can be found in paleo- and modern volcanically active areas.

Development of a modern digital format for registration and
analysis of information about flow operations
Abstract. This work presents the software shell of the electronic information resource “Mudflow Phenomena Database” created on the basis of Microsoft Access, which covers the issues of organizing the recording of data on mudflow occurrences based on materials from complex and operational (space, ground-based route, etc.) monitoring of mudflow basins, as well as archival data for each of them. The work describes the structure of the information entered; the choice of parameters to be taken into account is justified; methods for implementing search queries are presented; data output; their export with a change of format.

The problem of adaptation of man-made high-risk
facilities to global climate change
Abstract. The purpose of this study is to assess the current state of hydraulic structures (GTS) of the tailings dam of the Tyrnyauz Mining and Processing Plant (TGOC) against the background of activation of dangerous slope and channel processes of the Gizhgit River, in the channel of which the structure is designed. The paper identifies the main directions of measures to improve the current situation, and based on the analysis of the results obtained, the necessary recommendations are given.

Thunderstorm electricity
and lightning discharges in the North Caucasus
Abstract. . The work examines the thunderstorm processes that occurred in the North Caucasus in 2009-2019. The region under consideration is characterized by pronounced relief heterogeneity. During the work, the number of ground-based positive and negative lightning registered during the day for the period 2009–2019 was calculated. for all subjects of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus. In the territory under consideration, the largest number of ground lightning occurs from 12 to 18 hours, when it is 60% and slightly less – 26–30 %, from 18 to 24 hours.

Mechanisms of Elbrus lakes outburst
Abstract. Based on the analysis of multi-time aerial photographs, satellite images and publications, data on the mechanisms of lake outburst that existed at different times near the glaciers of Elbrus in the period 1957-2023 are presented. Mostly lakes were emptied as a result of overflow over the surface of ice ridges. Lake outbursts also occurred through underground and subglacial channels, as a result of erosion of moraine by glacial floods, collapse of moraine masses into the lake, landslide deformations of lake basins sections.
