SALBIEV T.K. Reception of the frescoes of the Nuzal Temple: the Flourishing cross
Abstract. The study of the ritual and mythological aspects of the reception of the Flourishing Cross, which is part of the composition of the frescoes of the Nuzal Temple, allows to comprehensively and ystematically consider the interaction of Christianity and the Ossetian ethno-cultural spiritual tradition. As a result, it is possible to identify it as an element of the solar myth, which is manifested due to temporal connection with the celebration of the patron of wolves Tutyr / Totur during the spring and autumn equinoxes. The Alan substratum in the Karachay-Balkar tradition, in which Aštotur appears as the patron of hunters, allows to establish a functional background for Afsati to act as a substitute for Tutyr / Toturin Ossetian tradition.
Keywords: Ossetians, Christianity, reception, mythology, cult of the patron of wolves, evolution.

HISTORY

TSALLAGOVA Z.B. Princess of Vladimir Maria Yasynya: ethnic origin and spiritual featZ.B.
Abstract. The article, dedicated to the famous woman of Ancient Rus', Princess of Vladimir Maria Yasynya (1158–1206), sets the task of considering the points of view and materials of scientists who investigated the issues and versions of her ethnic origin, as well as her asceticism and spiritual exploits. The analytical review of the scientific works of leading ethnologists, archaeologists, philologists, religious scholars, anthropologists of the country given in the publication, given in the perspective of the problem under study, allows us to draw conclusions about the reasonableness and indisputability of scientific facts testifying to the Alanian (Yassky) origin of Princess of Vladimir, known from ancient Russian chronicles like Maria Yasynya. As for her spiritual feat, it was appreciated by the contemporaries of the princess: the efforts of Maria Yasynya in the pious upbringing of her twelve children (among whose descendants there are thirteen Russian saints), in the construction of Orthodox churches and charity, testified by the chroniclers to personal piety, became the basis for her veneration as a locally revered Vladimir saint shortly after her monastic tonsure and death.

ETHNOLOGY

CHOCHIEV G.V. Everyday Life and Historical Memory of the Inhabitants of the Ossetian Villages of the Sarıkamış District according to the Diaries of Süleyman Kazmaz, 1940–1941
Abstract. The publication of the diary entries of the Turkish ethnographer and local historian S. Kazmaz describes the socio-cultural characteristics of the inhabitants of four Ossetian villages in the Sarıkamış district of the Kars vilayet of the Republic of Turkey in the early 1940s. The material has a certain value in the context of Ossetian history and ethnology as a first-hand documentary fixation of the nature of everyday life and the state of the collective memory of the specified population at the stage of its completely isolated existence from the “maternal” ethnic group.

HISTORY OF SCIENCE

VASILEVA S.A. «Crime is a kind of moral disease ...»: ideas about the means and methods of treatment and prevention of criminal behavior in the anglo-american socio-cultural space in the late XVIII – early XIX centuries
Abstract. The article examines the peculiarities of public attitudes to crime and criminal behavior in Anglo-American penitentiary thought. The shift of the punitive paradigm of criminal justice (in which society sought to get rid of criminal elements by means of death penalty or expulsion) predetermined the formation of the national penitentiary system, the main purpose of which was the correction of the criminals and the restoration of their social usefulness. There is a tendency to consider criminal behavior as a social disease, the penitentiary as a place and condition for the cure of the criminal, and labor and religious conversion are considered as the main means of social therapy.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

GURBANOV A.G., DOKUCHAEV A.Y., GAZEEV V.M., LEKSIN A.B., LOLAEV A. B., GURBANOVA O.A. Increased precious metal concentrations in industrial waste of the Fiagdon processing factory and their interpretation (RNO-A, North Caucasus)
Abstract. Relevance of research. The main prospects of RNO-A for the discovery of an industrially significant gold-sulfide-quartz ore type are closely related to the Fiagdon-Tersky structural-formational subzone, in which the Dagom-Tersky ore region with three ore fields is distinguished: Dagom-Tersky, Afsandur-Lamardonsky and Dagom - Kadatsky. On the territory of North Ossetia, precious metal (gold, platinum, elements of the platinum group) black shale type mineralization is localized in the Toar-Aalen flyschoid carbonaceous terrigenous deposits exposed within the Afsandur-Lamardon ore field (ALOF). Involvement in prospecting and exploration of this strategic mineral type of mineralization will provide an opportunity to expand the mineral resource base of the Southern Federal District of Russia. The purpose of the research is to identify elevated contents of precious metals in the industrial wastes of the Fiagdonskaya concentrating plant (FCP) and in the ore-bearing Toar-Aalen black shale strata. The FCP processed ores only from the Kadat and Kakadur polymetallic deposits localized in the Toar-Aalen flyschoid carbonaceous terrigenous deposits of the ALOF. Research methods. 5 samples were analyzed by the ICP-MS method at the IGEM-Analytika Center on an X-Series II mass spectrometer and 38 samples at the Laboratory of Physicochemical and Chemical Methods of Analysis of the Institute of Geological Surveys on an Elan 6100 DRC instrument. Discussion of the obtained results. Elevated concentrations of precious metals found in 43 samples (in well cores) of the Fiagdon tailing (FT) can be indirectly explained by the possible presence both in the ores of ALOF and in the enclosing Lower-Middle Jurassic carbon-bearing (2.5-3.2 wt.% CM) sandyargillaceous flyschoid stratum of the Lower-Middle Jurassic gold-platinoid mineralization with polymetals of the black shale typestratum, new for the North Caucasus. A model is proposed for the formation of goldplatinoid mineralization with polymetals of the black shale type due to convection of vadose waters in highly metal-bearing (Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, etc.) EarlyMiddle Jurassic flyschoid strata of siltstone-argillite composition. Within the framework of the ALOF, during recent years, conducted in the territory of the Republic of North Ossetia-A, AOO “Rosgeologiya”, prospecting for goldquartz and gold-sulfide types of mineralization, if all selected ore samples are analyzed for platinum and platinum group elements (PGE) , then, in the presence of favorable structural and lithological conditions, a number of industrially significant objects with gold-platinoid mineralization with polymetals in the black shale strata of the Toar-Aalen age can be identified.
Keywords: gold-platinoid mineralization with polymetals, black shale strata, sources of precious metal mineralization, ore-bearing carbonaceous mudstones, Afsandur-Lamardon ore field
