Dzhioeva Z.A. On the issue of the Scythian presence in the Caucasus
Abstract. The focus of this study is the problem of the presence of Scythians in the South and North Caucasus, the participation of the Scythian ethnic element in the ethnogenesis of Ossetians. The data of archeology, linguistics, ethnography, mythology, folklore, written sources indicate that the early history of the Scythians is closely connected with the Caucasus.

Dementiev D.A A.P. Ermolov's application of psychological warfare techniques to solve military- strategic and political tasks in Transcaucasia
Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of psychological warfare techniques used by A.P. Ermolov to solve the problems of strengthening Russian statehood in Transcaucasia in 1816- 1820. The author paid special attention to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the psychological impact measures taken by the general against the Georgian Tsarevich Alexander Bagrationi, Ismail Khan of Khoy and Mustafa Khan of Shirvan. The theoretical basis of the research is the principle of consistency and the comparative historical method.

Aylarova S.A. On the historical concept of Soslan (Vano) Temirkhanov
Abstract. The article is devoted to the historical and cultural concept of the Ossetian educator Soslan (Vano) Temirkhanov. The form of cultural and historical identification presented by the historian was based on certain aspects of ethnic tradition realized in the history of the Ossetian people. These are integral mythologems of culture (in particular, the myth of Prometheus), an ancient religious tradition – Iranian monotheism, which determined the logic of national history. The original mental core of Ossetian culture dictated in history the forms of social solidarity and state structure, ethical and aesthetic perception of the world. The historian set himself scientific and educational goals, presenting a generalizing picture of the history of the Ossetian people in its main periods. The continuity of the narrative is set by the unity of the Iranian ethnic basis, traced from ancient times – the history of the people of "Ir". The ethnic origin of the Ossetian people is connected by a continuous thread with a series of ethnonyms of ancient and medieval sources – Scythians, Sarmatians, Alans – into a single history of the Ossetian people ("iron Adam"), and connects it with the Indo-Aryans of antiquity and the community of all Iranian peoples. Constant wars and conflicts have defined the tragic drama of the history of the people. Therefore, Temirkhanov calls most of the chapters of his work by the names of the formidable enemies of the ancestors of the Ossetians: "Roman era", "Hun era", "Mongol time", etc. Temirkhanov's work is a search for guidelines for the cultural and civilizational development of Ossetia in the XX century, building a national and cultural ideology that would ensure the internal integration of society during modernization and external integration into the world community while preserving its own identity

Babich I.L. Institute of Mutual Assistance in the Life of North Caucasian Emigrants in France in the 1920s–1930s
Abstract. The aim of this article is to study the institution of mountain mutual assistance in the life of North Caucasian emigrants in France in the 1920s-1930s. The author describes the organizations in emigration which help people, analyzes their role and place in emigrant life, as well as the problem of correlation of political and national interests of North Caucasian emigrants.In France, the organizations were: North Caucasian, Circassian and Ossetian. Emigrants from the North Caucasus could not unite their political parties and groups into one organization. The same problem was with the activities of public organizations aimed at helping the highlanders.The leadership and members of public organizations of the North Caucasians also could not negotiate with each other, so there were many such societies and there were many similarities in their activities.

Tsorieva I.T. «Aguzarov’s Hollywood has gone». From the history of the creation of television cinematography in North Ossetia
Abstract. The article examines the historical and political aspects of the formation and development of national television cinematography in North Ossetia in the 1960-1980s. It is noted that the starting point for the implementation of the idea of creating national cinematography was the change in the political climate in the country, which contributed to the self-realization of national political elites in the field of culture. The process of formation of a kind of partnership between the authorities and the national intelligentsia in the form of cultural paternalism is shown. It is concluded that the established partnership ensured the creation of a regional film production center on the basis of the North Ossetian television film studio, which became a phenomenon of cultural life for the entire North Caucasus region.

Kulumbegov R.P. Ritual practices as the foundation for cultivating urban culture (on the example of the city of Tskhinval, Republic of South Ossetia).
Abstract. This article explores the contemporary urban landscape of the capital of the Republic of South Ossetia, Tskhinval, as a site for ritual practices that inform the city's cultural identity. The urban landscape features locations where rituals are performed to commemorate the deceased or to celebrate significant historical events. Additionally, there are specific sites where wishes are fulfilled, and around which unique rituals have developed. Public practices within Tskhinval's urban space are characterized by their specificities, which are shaped by local traditions and the mentality of the city's inhabitants.

Plieva M.G. Grigory Kotaev. Two portraits of Aza (in memory of the translator of «Nartiada» and writer A.Z. Almazova)
Abstract. The article provides little-known documents and information, including correspondence between the famous South Ossetian artist G. S. Kotaev and a researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.Z. Almazova about the difficult work on the portraits of "Aza". Memories of the difficulties of translating from the French studies of J. Dumezil's "Ossetian epic and Mythology", edited by V.I. Abaev and "Scythians and Sleds", edited by B.A. Kaloev. Also, for the first time, the memoirs of the translator and writer "My amazing grandfather" about the childhood spent in South Ossetia and the touching "color fairy tale for former children" "Swallow and Fly" are published. The article is provided with pictures from the personal archive of A.Z. Almazova, kindly provided by her nieces Vera and Olga Almazova, together with an unfinished letter addressed personally to the author of the article

Lolaev T.P. A philosophical view of the causes of the crisis in fundamental physics and ways to eliminate them
Abstract. Currently, as we know, fundamental physics is at the stage of a deep and protracted crisis. According to the Nobel Prize laureates IlyaPrigozhin and Roger Penrose, the outstanding theoretical physicist Lee Smolin, as well as the author of this article, the reason for the current situation in science, first of all, is the researchers' operation of the concept of "subjective time", which arises and exists only in the consciousness of an individual, an observer. At the same time, physicists do not use in their research the concept of objective time arising and existing in nature.I. Prigozhin, referring to the concept of "objective time", believed that the main thing in science is to bring this concept to the fore. According to the scientist, if we introduce a new concept of time into the equations of dynamics, it will be possible to start a new stage of the scientific and technological revolution.

Gazeev V.M., Gurbanov A.G. Collectible minerals and ornamental stones of pegmatite veins of the North Caucasus
Abstract. Based on the study of geological reports, scientific publications and route studies, the distribution areas of uneven-aged pegmatites within the territory of the North Caucasus were determined.Their varieties are described associated with rocks of acidic, basic, ultrabasic compositions, the origin of which is due to late magmatic and postmagmatic metasomatic processes that occurred mainly in the apical parts of granite massifs and above their roof, as well as in massifs of gabbroids and ultrabasic rocks. Collectible minerals and ornamental stones found in connection with pegmatites a redescribed.A brief description of their most typical representatives is given.It is noted that in the Central Caucasus in the structural-formational zone (SFZ) of the Main Range, in connection with the Late Paleozoic "S-type" granites, pegmatites with a high content of beryllium, tin, tungsten and arsenic are common. In the Western Caucasus, in the SFZ of the Front Range, in connection with the Middle Paleozoic granites of the "adakite" type, minerals with a high content of strontium are common in pegmatites.

Sayapina A.A., Chivieva T.V.. Pyatunin M.S. About the expanding of the seismic observation network on the territory of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania
Abstract. On the territory of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania (RNO-Alania) in 2019 and 2021, the seismic observation network of the North Ossetian branch of the Federal Research Center EGS RAS was expanded by opening two digital seismic stations in the village of Mayramadag and the village of Popov Khutor, to increase the sensitivity of the network in the region Vladikavkaz earthquake zone (EZ). This article provides information about location determination for new observation points and technical characteristics of the installed equipment, an estimation of the spectral noises power of every new station in comparison with the model of seismic background noise (Peterson, 1993). Also has been built the velocity profiles for every of new station sites, using the method of spectral analysis of surface waves (SASW). Using the example of a weak earthquake, it is shown that with help of the new stations it is became possible to record seismic events in the Vladikavkaz EZ, which would have gone unnoticed with the previous network configuration

Abaeva A.V., Khatsaeva F.M. The role of landscape in the formation of environmental conditions of the urban environment of Vladikavkaz
Abstract. The landscape is a direct condition and factor in the formation of environmental conditions on the territory of the city of Vladikavkaz. The list of aspects of the impact of relief on the environment is quite extensive, including various manifestations of unfavorable and dangerous geomorphological processes, the formation of aeration regime and redistribution of pollutants in the atmospheric air, participation in the distribution of wind flows through the urban area at the local level of blocks and streets, regulation of humidity regime, transformation of surface runoff from urban areas due to natural features and anthropogenic transformation of the landscape. The landscape of the urban area affects the parameters of the ecological state of the urban environment in various ways, determining its quality and, accordingly, the level of comfort and safety of living for the population of the city.
